Adult High School Credit Diploma
Adult High School Credit Diploma Program:
The New London Board of Education has made available a New London Adult High School Diploma to residents who meet certain requirements. Day and evening classes will be held at Three Shaw’s Cove, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
- Registration for classes is by appointment only! Please contact the Guidance Counselor at (860)437-2385 for more information.
- Persons eligible for the program must be at least 17 years of age and officially withdrawn from school. (Students under the age of 18 must present a withdrawal document with a parental/guardian signature). This includes Adult High School Credit Diploma and GED students.
- To enroll in the Adult High School Credit Diploma program, the student must reside in New London, Waterford, Montville, Groton, or Lyme-Old Lyme.
- Groton Credit Diploma classes begin Monday, September 9th at West Side Middle School. Registration will be conducted at West Side Middle School August 28 & 29, from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Credits are conferred for the completion of classes. Credits may also be awarded for documented work, occupational, volunteer, and military experiences. The program requires satisfactory completion of the following:
- 4 credits in English
- 2 credits in Vocational Education, Art, and Technology
- 3 credits in Mathematics
- 3 credits in Science
- 3 credits in Social Studies (1 credit must be in U.S. History and 1 credit in Government)
- 6 elective credits
