EMT Spring 2018 Training: Initial EMT Basic Training 100 

Classes are held Monday & Thursday nights and Saturday daytime. This intensive program is designed to provide a basic understanding of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology. It will allow you to better understand signs, symptoms and emergency care. An anatomical and body system approach to physical exams will link conditions to assessment findings. This course will give you knowledge of the presentation of common medical conditions and traumatic injuries encountered in the pre-hospital environment. You will learn how to provide the most efficient and effective emergency care. Graduates of this program will satisfy licensure requirements from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians as well as the Connecticut Department of Public Health, Office of Emergency Medical Service. The textbook is included in this course. This course is WIOA approved and approved for VA Benefits.

Prerequisites: Proof of: Tuberculosis (TB PPD) test results with in 1 year from the end of the clinical end date Measles Mumps Rubella (MMR) Varicella (Chicken Pox) Tetanus, Diphtheria Pertussis (Tdap) Hepatitis B (Hep B) Student must be 16 years of age before the end of the class.
