Technician Class Amateur Radio License 107

Be prepared to provide communications during a natural or man-made emergency. Power is out, cell phones have stopped working, and your friends and neighbors need help! “When All Else Fails!” Amateur Radio operators are there to provide communications. Help provide public safety communications at local races, triathlons, bike rides, and other events. Talk with Amateur Radio operators (hams) in your community, across the country, and around the world! Communicate through Orbiting Satellites Carrying Amateur Radio (OSCAR), bounce your radio signals off the moon to communicate with other hams thousands of miles away! Yes, you can do all that and more with a Technician Class Amateur Radio License! This course will prepare you for the exam to earn your very own Federal Communications Commission License. (No Morse Code required!) You will learn about FCC rules, basic electronics, how radio waves carry your voice or other forms of communication, how antennas send and receive radio signals, how to operate a radio transmitter and receiver, and what kinds of equipment you may want for your very own ham radio station. You will learn all this and more in this class. License exams will be given during the last class. With nearly 50 years of Amateur Radio experience, expert instructor Larry Wolfgang, WR1B, along with his team of assistant teachers, will introduce you to the exciting world of Amateur Radio as you prepare to pass your license exam.
