Technical Drawing for DIY Projects 212 

In this class you will learn the basics of technical/mechanical drawings. Whether you're building some new stairs, or creating some unique flower boxes, or trying to figure out how much wallpaper you're going to need for a room; simple but exact drawings will be a great help.

Topics to be covered:

Paper sizes and types; i.e. plane, ruled, or grid.

The drawing boarder and the minimum information required.

Drawing views; top, front, side, and back.

The alphabet of lines: solid, dashed, center lines, phantom lines.

Drawing scale: full, half, quarter, decimal, fractional.

Dimensioning the drawing.

Simple calculations for areas.

There will be numerous handouts for the students.

A basic drafting set of tools will be needed; available at local arts and craft stores.
